The Lincoln Speech Memorial, located int eh National Cemetery near the spot where on November 19th, 1863, at the dedication of the Soldier's National Cemetery, Lincoln delivered the world-famout Gettysburg Address.

The State House

The original State House was built of Concord granite in 1819. It was remodeled and enlarged in 1864. Lilacs, the state flower adorn the lawn with other floral decorations.

Catching up on my posting

As though it hasn't been too obvious already. I finally have been able to do something after taking care of my dad's declining health since May 2009.

I've been trying to make sure that the cards are up. I had been collecting them in a basket and trying to post as time permitted.

Kiyomizudera Temple, Kyoto - Kiyomizudera was founded in 780 at the request of Sakanoue-no-Tamuramaro. the main hall of this temple, built in 1633, is famed mainly for its wide wooden veranda in front, potruding over a steep cliff, from which a panoramic view of the city can be seen.
