Colorado
The Centennial State

Colorado is Spanish for "colored ed". Named for the river,it was admitted into the Union in 1876 as te 38th state. Being the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Colorado gained its nickname, the Centennial State, claiming Denver as its capital. The state bird is the Lark Bunting, the state tree is the Blue Spruce, and the Rocky Mointain Columbine is the state flower.
